How does SHU work?
We are a temporary housing community that helps those men and women transition back into civilian life.
Do you need proof you were in the military?
Yes, we require either military ID or a regular ID with a DD214.
How long can they stay?
These men and women can stay at the community for up to 6 months with some exceptions that can lead up to 12 months.
Do you have to pay?
No, this is a nonprofit, so all stays are free of charge.
What do we help with?
As listed on the other pages, we help with temporary housing, assistance finding employment, assistance finding permanent housing, therapy, clothing and food.
Are pets allowed?
Only services animals are allowed.
Do we take donations?
Yes, we take donations. There is a link on the home page that will take you to a place where you can donate.
